Advanced 3D Animation: Implementing Animations with Interconnecting Functionalities

Implementing game mechanics using Unreal Engine




This project was done for a module assignment at university. The brief was to create five models, one of which were to be rigged. The last four had to have interconnectivity with the rigged model.

It was recommended we create rigged vehicles or weapons, in separate pieces so they could animate together. I took a different approach and created a character concept, in inspiration from games such as League of Legends, Valorant and Overwatch, where each character has a set of unique abilities to help the team take victory.

The character/models were modelled, rigged, animated etc in Blender, then implemented into Unreal Engine. A video demo of the functionality can be seen here: https://youtu.be/4kNkvDss35I.
